Combian 64 on Raspberry Pi 4?
Dear Combians :))
First of all, i want to thank you everyone who supported the project by making donations.
Since its launch, Combian was downloaded thousand of times from all the world, of course, this made me very happy because i didn’t expect such a success :))
Once again, thank you very much to all of you!
As you maybe discovered, Combian 2.8.1 doesn’t run on Raspberry Pi 4, i even don’t have this model yet, first or then i’ll buy one for my own projects :))
As you know Combian64 doesn’t run on Raspberry pi 4, so i decided to make a kind of investigation to understand whether or not you’re interested in a version which run on this new board.
Of course, the process of writing a new Combian 64 for Raspberry Pi 4 wouldn’t be quick, because everything would be re-written scratch
Let me know what do you think about it leaving a comment in the below section :))
Thanks for your attention
Get back soon 🙂
What is Combian 64?
Combian 64 is Raspberry Pi distribution able to boot your preferite Commodore machine in just few seconds.
It uses the brand new compiled version of Vice 3.1 to emulate all the Commodore Machines set.
By default, Combian 64 boots the Commodore 64 emulator, but it’s not the only one included in the distro….what if you want to emulate a Commodore Vic 20?
Easy answer! 😉
By quitting the emulator (pressing key F8), typing ‘menu’ command from the shell, you have access to the internal Combian 64 menu which will allow you to change options like: emulator to run at boot, run raspi-config command, reboot your Raspberry Pi, shutdown, or even run again the emulator.
Combian 64 is a free project, this means you can modify, improve, customise it as you like.
It’s however prohibited to include Combian 64 in commercial product

Did you like Combian 64?
Altough the spirit of this distro is to keep alive our passion for retrogaming, developing new features and releases of Combian requires time and resources, so, as an encouragement to keep on working on it, please, consider to make a free donation 🙂
Need VKM files for Keyrah?
If you use Combian64 to build your own Commodore retromachine based on Keyrah, thank to Antonio Stoppa, you can now download a matching C64 keyboard VKM configuration file. Enjoy it 😉

People who made Combian64 possible
First of all it is natural to thank the Vice team for their incredible Commodore machines emulator, without it, Combian64 wouldn’t exist.
I’d like to thank also the facebook group “Retro Emulation World.” which inspired me with the idea and suggestions on Combian64 development. If you want to be part of this incredible community, click the image below 🙂
